Work > Persuasion, Alcott Gallery, 2017

In, Persuasion, a title borrowed from the Jane Austen book, I began to meditate on the performance of love and it’s many related dramas. The word persuasion has two synonyms I find useful for the discovery of the spirit of this work. These synonyms are to coerce and to coax. Harnessing materials such as black velvet, faux fur, red rubber, and sequins, the body of work for Persuasion explores and cherishes the complexities of pleasure.
